TEST CONSTRUCTION KIT FOR EDUCATIONAL AND QUALIFICATION TESTS

PURPOSE and APPLICATION

TESTCON (TEST CONstruction kit) is a Maintest application that includes “test construction kit” module enabling users to create their own tests. TESTCON is intended for creation of educational and qualification tests (professional knowledge tests).

It can be used in personnel recruitment, assessment and education. Test results can be delivered either in the form of psychometric scale, or in the form of percentage of correct answers.

TESTCON is useful when solving the following problems:

Creating a pilot version of a new test that includes items with the correct answer.
Statistical analysis of the pilot version of a new test on the basis of pilot population, including statistical norms scoring.
Editing the pilot version of a new test according to approbation results.
Distributing a test across the representative net of educational institutions or across company representatives with the possibility of centralized data collection and analysis.

STRUCTURE

TESTCON consists of the following functional elements and blocks:

Template for creating and editing the initial test version in MS Excel format. Mastering this system element requires basic knowledge of MS Excel only. Electronic tables contain scale names, items and keys (correct answers). Instructions and annotations can be created in html format.
Import of electronic tables. This subsystem transforms .xls table into Maintest standard table.
Statistical norms scoring. This subsystem is a part of Maintest application (‘Expert” version).
“Exporter” subsystem for preparing and sending a catalogue with a new test. The catalogue can be sent to the company representatives if they have the “Standard” version of the Maintest application installed.

COMPLETE SET and SUPPLY

TESTCON distributives are supplied on CD. Protection is ensured by installation codes and parallel port key. Seminars are provided for individual and group training.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

IBM PC
SVGA display, video card with 800х600 pixels and more (1024х768 recommended)
OS MS Windows 9X, ME, NT, 2000 with Russian language support

Online version of TESTCON is a part of the “Custom tests” system created by HT-Line.
